I had a really great time with my family in Minneapolis these past couple weeks. We did a bit of sightseeing (Minnesota Zoo, Mall of America), but mostly just enjoyed being together: lots of chatting, eating meals together, and plenty of one of my favorite pastimes - table games! I'll have to post some photos when I have time to sort through them all!
Last Saturday, all of my sister-in-law's family joined us for a reunion of both our families, and we went to a local park for a picnic. It was a rainy morning, so we were afraid our plans would get rained out, but instead, the Lord used the rain to drive us to the only sheltered tables in the park that didn't require a reservation. Those tables also happened to be right next to a great playground, and that turned out to be the best thing for the kids (my sister-in-law's nephew and niece). If we'd been able to use the tables we were originally going to use, we would have been a long walk from the playground, and the kids might have been bored. And by the time we finished lunch, the skies had cleared up nicely for us to walk around the park for a while. So praise God for the weather!
I left Minneapolis this morning and am now in a hotel near Chicago, on my way to Michigan for Bibles International's annual staff retreat. Pray for travel safety for everyone who will be driving up for it, and a great time of fellowship together.
